Run Free Running Club

Running is more than a sport. It's a lifestyle. Join us and run free.

Our Story

For over 40 years, running has been more than just a sport for me—it has been a lifelong journey of self-discovery, resilience, and joy. What began as a passion when I was a young girl evolved into a competitive pursuit through middle school, high school, college, and beyond. Along the way, running became my teacher, my therapy, and my community.

I created Run Free Running Club to share this love of running with others. Whether you're lacing up your shoes for the first time or chasing a personal best, this club is your home. My mission is to build an inclusive and uplifting space where every runner—regardless of experience, age, or pace—feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

Through personalized coaching, group runs, training programs, and special events, we aim to bring people together not just to run, but to connect, grow, and thrive. Here, we don't just chase miles—we chase meaning.

Welcome to a club where running is about more than fitness. It's about freedom.

Run free, always.

Purpose

Running has been a foundational part of my life for more than four decades. What began as a childhood passion has grown into a lifelong commitment to the sport—a journey that has shaped my character, values, and perspective. From my early days as a young runner through the competitive stages of middle school, high school, college, and beyond, running has not only been a physical pursuit but a deep source of personal growth, discipline, and joy.

Throughout my running journey, I've come to see the road as a powerful metaphor for life itself. It teaches resilience through setbacks, strength through perseverance, and joy through movement. Whether in competition or solitude, running has always offered a sense of freedom and fulfillment that I believe everyone deserves to experience.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching runners of all ages and abilities. Guiding others through their running journeys has reinforced my belief in the sport's unique power to inspire confidence, build community, and foster well-being. These experiences have led me to the next natural step: founding a running club that reflects my passion, experience, and vision for what running can bring to people's lives.

The mission of Run Free Running Club is simple: to create an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environment where runners—whether beginners or seasoned athletes—can find joy, improve their fitness, and grow together. Through personalized coaching, group runs, training programs, and events, I aim to share the same love for running that has brought so much richness to my life.

Run Free Running Club will not just be about pace or distance—it will be about heart. It will be a place where people feel empowered to challenge themselves, supported in their goals, and welcomed as they are.

I look forward to building a community where every runner, regardless of background or experience, can feel the wind on their face, the rhythm of their stride, and the freedom that running brings.

Run free, always.

For over six years, I have had the privilege of being coached by Tina Bartholomew. Only two of those years were as my official high school track and field coach; the rest, including the present, have been entirely voluntary on both our parts.

I met Tina at a local race about 25 years ago. She was the overall winner for the females with a 17 minute and change for a 5k. I was very impressed and approached her to see how I could get faster.
